GUIDLINES FOR THE CONDUCT OF QIP SHORT TERM COURSE (STC)

The STC (short Term Course) under QIP is offered through AICTE funding to conduct courses in emerging areas for faculty participants from AICTE approved institutions. The steps to conduct such courses are as follows:

  1. Propose the STC on the online CE&QIP portal after our announcement for the year which generally is sent out in the month of January or February every year.

  2. The ISTE (Indian Society for Technical Education) handbook, containing addresses of NITS and AICTE recognized degree level technical colleges/institutions may be collected from QIP office, which may be used for sending QIP-STC brochures. The QIP office would be happy to assist you in this matter. The QIP office can assist you in mailing the brochure.

  3. Check the availability of accommodation in the guest house or hostel on the proposed course dates.

  4. Request for advance if needed: Advance should be drawn and settled within 2 months of completion of the course. The upper limit for advance amount is 20,000/-. Advance requisition form is available in the CE&QIP office.
  5. Receive registration info on your dashboard and screen applicants to select the required number, and send notifications via the dashboard. Please note that the applicant can be considered to belong to an AICTE approved institute if the institute name appears in the Engineering & Technology college list at this site: click here. (Please Select 'Year' then the State to which the college belongs, Select Progamme as 'Engineering & Technology', Select Level as 'UG & PG' then 'submit button' to get AICTE Approved college list).

  6. We have stopped the practice of collecting caution deposit . In order to deal with drop-out of registered participants, it is recommended to specify the minimum number of participants at 35.

  7. Prepare the course material and conduct the course.

  8. During the inauguration function, registration and TA/DA forms will be distributed to the participants by QIP staff.
  9. The certificates will be prepared by the QIP office in the standard approved format.

  10. Accommodation will be provided in student hostel for all the STC participants at no charge to the Participants. Hostel charges will be directly billed to the course.

  11. Selected candidates will be entitled for to-and-fro sleeper class(second class) or III AC railway fare by the shortest route. Local transport by auto rickshaw from Vikhroli,Kanjurmarg and Andheri railway stations only to IIT on the dates of arrival and departure will be refunded. Local participants will be given TA charges as per Institute rules.

  12. No honorarium is payable through advance to any local/guest faculty or staff.

  13. QIP courses can be combined and offered in the CEP mode (for industry participants) and also possibly combined with a GIAN Course (in case an approved GIAN course has already been sanctioned by MHRD). A separate course proposal is required for each mode.
