    The STC (short Term Course) under QIP is offered through AICTE funding to conduct courses in emerging areas for faculty participants from AICTE approved institutions. The steps to conduct such courses are as follows:

  1. Apply for the STC against our announcement which generally is sent out in the month of January or February every year.The application form is attached at the bottom of this webpage.

  2. The ISTE (Indian Society for Technical Education) handbook, containing addresses of NITS and AICTE recoggnized degree level technical colleges/institutions may be collected from QIP office, which may be used for sending QIP-STC brochures.The QIP office would be happy of assist you in this matter.

  3. Check the availability of about 15 rooms in the guest house or hostel on the proposed course dates.

  4. Prepare the course brochure. A specimen soft copy is attached below. Send the soft copy for your course, to the QIP office for uploading on the webpage. ( For sample copy of specimen brochure click here )
  5. Request for advance: Advance should be drawn and settled within 2 months of completion of the course.The upper limit for advance amount is 20,000/-. Advance requisition form is attached at the bottom of the page.

  6. The QIP office can assist you in mailing the brochure.

  7. Receive registration forms from Applicants and select about 30 candidates and inform them accordingly.(for more than 30 candidates kindly contact QIP Office for details)

  8. A caution deposit of Rs.1,000/- or Rs.2,000/- may be collected in the form of DD from Prospective participants before sending them the final invitation letter.

  9. Prepare the course material and conduct the course.

  10. During the inauguration function, registration and TA/DA forms will be distributed to the participants by QIP staff.The caution deposit along with TA/DA amount is paid to the participants on the last day of the course.
  11. The certificates will be prepared by the QIP office in the standard approved format.

  12. Accommodation will be provided in student hostel for all the STC participants at no charge to the Participants. Hostel charges will be directly billed to the course.

  13. Selected candidates will be entitled for to-and-fro sleeper class(second class) or III AC railway fare by the shortest route. Local transport by auto rickshaw from Vikhroli,Kanjurmarg and Andheri railway stations only to IIT on the dates of arrival and departure will be refunded. Local participants will be given TA charges as per Institute rules.

  14. It is suggested that the help of two/three students/staff members may be taken for carrying out various activities as above. They may be paid reasonable honorarium as per the norms.

  15. No honorarium is payable through advance to any local/guest faculty or staff.

  16. QIP courses can be combined and offered in the CEP mode (for industry participants) and also possibly combined with GIAN Course as well (that facilitates inviting distiguished overseas faculty), for which you may talk to us.
